in advance aut there is a code book that can help you in the haynes manual section. called scanner and codes. i think. and in there you will find your answer. from the sound of it its a o2 sensor or emission code. quick check is to take your gas cap off and twist the rubber seal in it around and get the code erased if it was that then you will immediately know. and most o2 sensor codes can be erased by a good fuel cleaner and a little hard running of the vehicle.
