when i was in 8th grade i was at this local event for school, my whole class was there. i was wearing a rolling stones t-shirt (my class had 10 kids, 1 skater, 2 jocks, 4 preps, and the 2 geeks, and me.) we were all about to leave and i was standing and this girl in my class (prep) named lindsey turned to me and said "you know what skyler, you'll never fit in. you'll never be in the "in" crowd. you'll never be envyed or looked up to. you're nobody really, just look at yourself (points to t-shirt) you're a dork."

those cruel words have never left me.
from that day forward my entire perspective on life changed.
i see people for who they are, not how they dress.
i know what its like to be judged.

have you ever had an experience with popular snobs or with people in general that changed you?

Well I might have something for you, mine is kind of the opposite to you though, I was about 14 or 15 at the time, I am 21 now. I was at a party with some of my friends and I met a group of girls who I had never seen before. There were heaps of people there and everyone was just really friendly and talking to people they didnt know, so we were all talking about a group if guys standing across from us but they were to hesistant to go speak to them and I agreed and then one of the girls said to me, your pretty you can talk to anyone (its kinda lame) but it was just so opposite to the way I was feeling. I seem to always think people think negatively of me, so when she said that it changed my perception about me. It sort of gave me more confidence. It was a long time ago but it still sticks with me.
