The Civic SI is a sport sedan edition of the Civic. It has better handling, finer tuned suspension, a bigger engine, and small changes to the interior. The Civic EX is the top-of-the-line Civic. It has all of the luxury features available. The Civic LX is kind of a bare necessities car. It has everything you need and a little bit more, but not as much as the EX. There's also a Civic DX, which is basically a Civic with nothing added to it (including air conditioning, power windows, locks, and mirrors, and cruise control).

ok...

the SI civic: Looks almost just like an EX civic, factory rear wing... the interior has only a few small "Si" touches differant guage cluster, shift knob, shift boots... etc..Has power everything on the inside, power sun roof "si" rims (15inch)... would have SI badges... has front lip and fog lights. This is the "top" of the line model civic you can buy as far as the 1999-2001 modles they came with the "b16" DOHC vtec engine.

EX model: Factory wing, no rims... etc... comes with the d16 SOHC vtec engine. Power windows on the inside, locks, mirrors power windows, etc...

LX model: Model right in between bottom of the line, and almost top of the line... Will have AC, power steering, and power locks... no power windows....Comes with the SOHC motor from the ex but NON-Vtec.

DX model: Base line, no power anything... No power steering, no ac.. no exterior features such as wing or rims. Comes with the same motor as the LX model civic.

Si is the sport model with a higher output engine. - It is not a stripped down model, they have comfort features including an optional nav system

EX is the top of the line model with all power accessories, and I think it has a rear spoiler all as standard equipment.

LX is the mid line model with power options and A/C standard

Dx is the base model power accessories are optional equipment

It depends on what model year as to the specific differences, but it is just a trim level.

DX - lowest base model
LX - a few ammenities added above base, such as power locks A/C and such
EX - highest trim model, all the bells and whistles, carries across all model lines
Si - The 'sport' version. Usually the most powerful motor, better brakes, and a few body differences(skirts, grill, bumpers) to attract those that consider hondas to be performance vehicles.

i own a repair shop, and the most difference is in the trim and option packages they have on them, some come with the sport package and some the luxury package, also different option packages went with the trim packages and people actually thought they was getting a different car,but not really, same car with more or less options, and up grade trim, that's really about all the difference in them at all, good luck i hope this help,s.
