God of War Ps2 help?

Question

ok on the level of the aegean sea with the hydra i cant get the big one to die the one where you have to first trap the smaller two with the spear then climb up the latter to the larger one. i attack it until it falls and i press the red O button repeatidly like your suppose to but it doesnt do any good everytime i end up getting slammed into the colum and the hydra is fine. ive gone through this now about 10 times. ive look into the step by step guide to see if i was doing anything wrong and is says after you hit the hydra on the thing 3 time the colum/pole thing should fall down but it hasnt help please anyone

Yes that is how you do it but you must me slowing down a bit when pressing O it takes 3 times to kill Hydra just keep at it you will get it..

PS. I know what you mean by getting slamed back it sucks you really need to hit the O fast

Well the problem is you have to keep attacking it unitl the pole breaks. You have to keep samshing the circle button until his head hits the pole. you then have to reapeat about 5-6 times. (IT does take some time, and sometimes it feels like your going no where but trust me it works.) Then the hydra will simply smash its head on the pole one last time, and then you defeat it. sounds like your doing it right.... you should beat the smaller ones then the big one by just simply jumping and hitting it... then when the O thing comes up press it and it should do the sequences of buttons and movement of joystick to kill him... he will die by plucking out his eyes one by one then when you go for the final kill, you will pull him down onto a pool going thru one eye to the other

you have to hit the 'O' not repeatedly but right on time with the flashign 'O', and it takes several tries before the mast breaks.
it is a royal PITA of a game.
