First casually find out whether she's accepting of bisexuals. If she is, then it's fine to tell her. If you tell her how you feel about her telling people and if she's a good friend she won't say anything.
(If she's not okay with that, then it's probably not a good idea to tell her.)
And after you tell her, don't overanalyze everything she says or you will get yourself upset. Sometimes people aren't sure what they should say.
(I'm speaking from this morning's experience actually)
I wish you the best of luck!

If you think she will tell someone, then don't tell her.
Do you have a reason to think that she'll spill? (told a secret before) If so then fair enough for not telling her, but if you dont know she'll tell then the only way you'll find out is by telling her. And tell her not to tell anyone.
If one of my male friends told me they were bi i couldn't care less.

If you are that concerned as to how she will take it, it might be wise to simply not tell her. You don't need to tell anyone, unless you want to date them, they shouldn't be concerned. If you don't want everyone to know, then only tell those who will keep it a secret.
But if its that important that you tell someone, then do it, but come out completely. For me, my sexuality isn't as great a part of my life as it is for some people, so I don't feel the need to broad cast it, though I would like to be out. From this perspective I can respect the fact that you are trying to come out. One way you could do so would be like you "" well, me, too! Put it in a light manner, but don't come out in the middle of an awkard conversation, that will just make the entire thing awkward. Good luck and I hope that helps.

I am a straight female, and I've been friends for several yrs with a guy who I suspected was gay but I wasn't 100% sure. He didn't know that I even suspected, and he never mentioned his partner. Then all of a sudden he told me he was gay and I said that I knew, and I met his partner and we have the best friendship ever. They are like brothers to me and I am like the sister they never had. Bottom line is, if she is truly a friend she will accept you as you are.

First off--a friend never has to be told anything--so why do you want to tell this person??? Drama getting to be too much??? A true friend will always respect your life choices---you never need to make excuses to a friend....about anything. Get the big picture here---does it really mean anything to know your personal life?? And if you want privacy, then keep it to yourself--if it gets out--it's your fault. Why tell her and then not be proud enough to tell everyone else?? You are who you are, an individual...no hiding that fact.

When my "former long-distance boyfriend" told me he was bi, I was got sick and threw up. Not that I had anything against bisexuals, I just never would want to date one, and it just scared me. I was young then. And he told me not to tell, but I told my momma (cuz I sorta had to, since she was asking what was wrong with me, and my momma has nothing against bi's or gays or lesbians either), but he got mad that I told my momma. But he got over it.
First see how she feels about bis and gays in general. If she is against them, then it's best not to tell her. If she is cool with them, then just say "I have something to tell you and I hope you don't freak out, but it's not that bad....." and then just say it I guess.
