Well, it may be time for a new drive..... You can get them pretty cheap on e-bay......open the case, pop out the old and stick in the new......make sure of compability first.

If the disk drive you're pertaining to is the 3 1/2 floppy disk drive -or other kinds of disk drive (whether a cd or dvd)- then you probably should get a drive cleaner.

If you are referring to the 3.5 floppy make sure the disks you are trying to read are 1.44 meg disks and not older 720k disks which look almost identical except they are minus a small HD symbol. If they are HD ( High Density) then either your floppy is dead or the cable is (assuming your motherboard is ok).
