Hi arzoo, A router is a devise that is connected to a phone line that receives information via a provider that is usually very fast and transfers it to a computer via a blue network cable and or via a radio transmittion being free of cables. The speed starts at 512 bits per second and most common computer connections are 100 bits pers second. A dial up is a computer connecting directly to the phone line then to a provider and the speed is much slower 52 bits per second. Nick name snail mail.
So the Router you do not wait so long for a page of internet information to load verses the dial up modem which can take for ever to load. Note the Router you need a Fast connection to a ADSL provider.

A router is a device with routing intelligence that connects local and remote network together. Routers are also used to forward packets in the Internet. And dial up is just a connection to the internet using a standard telephone line. But you can't use the house phone if you'll on the internet. If you have DSL or Comcast Internet Service Provider, you can be on the phone and on the internet at the same time.

A router, or wireless router, is used for wireless networking to make a wireless network connection. Dial-up Internet is Internet coming from a phone line, or an rj11 cable. When you are using dial-up Internet, or when are connected to the Internet when you have a dial-up connection, you cannot receive or make calls until you disconnect your connection, because your computer is using the phone line. If you want to use Internet and talk at the same time, and something that's faster than dial-up, you should get Verizon or Patriot Media. Instead of a phone line, they use an ethernet cable, or rj45 cable. It has nothing to do with your phone.

Router splits a single connection to be used between multiple computers. Can be LAN(Local area network) or WLAN(wireless local area network) Dialup is defined as a connection slower than 56 kbit/s or something thats really slow. Go broadband if you can.

a router lets you network your comps so they have internet. it works if you have hi-speed internet e.g. DSL, cable.us
dial-up is a now almost outdated way of getting online. through your phone line. you can't get phone calls when using it for internet.us when you connect, you hear a lot of squawking from your comp.us its slow and its mosty hated now. a phone line goes into your comp if you have it
