VeryVery good question!'Forever Amber'had the black death as one of the main themes,Amber nursed Bruce Carlton though this illness,and they survived,however the Hayes Office made them have the boboos (eruptions)under the arm instead of in the groin area, the Bubonic Plague is still epidemic in parts of the world today)It is carried by the fleas on rats that traveled to many lands by ships.Animals dogs and cats and others had the plague as well.At one time in the eleven hundreds ,the Duke of Lancaster,s wife Katherine was the most noble lady left in the royal family.The rest of the noble English ladies had died of the plague,as did his first wife.Once you had the plague you became immune.There were other movies,I sorry this was the only one I remember as featuring it so prominently.
