Count my money.

2007-03-04 13:55:46 · answer #1 · answered by Fish <>< 7 · 0 0

First I see if I have the money for it. Then I weigh the cost versus the pros of the product. For example, is this camera worth $330? If the price = the worth, then I decided whether or not the price is equal to the pros of owning it. For example, if I buy this train for $288, what will I do with it? How long will I want it or be able to use it? Will I use it in the future? Then, if I see it as a worthwhile investment, I buy it. Tah-dah!

Do I need it? What for? How often will I use it? Cost effective to own rather than rent? Can I afford it? Can I afford it now or latter? Credit? How long will it take to pay it off? Animal friendly? Child proof? Environmentally friendly? Where will I put it? Re-sale value.

I've learned how to handle my money the hard way and am a hardass when it comes to spending. I'm not cheap by any means, I just know what I'm doing when it comes to money.

Is it value for money, will it do what I need it to do within a reasonable price. Product reviews on big ticket items are helpful. Most importantly I have to decide if it is a "need," versus a "want." I "need" a plain old phone, cheap, I "want" the top of the line phone with features I will never use, very expensive.

1) How much to I want it ?.
2) How much does it cost at other stores ?
3) Do I have the money for it ?
Those are the only three factors that I consider at the time of a purchase.

Hope i could help you.

I never buy a product as soon as it comes out such as a new computer program or car. I wait six months-1 year at that point, reviews are out, kinks are being worked out and the price is usually reduced by 1/4-1/2 the original price.

I research the item as much as possible. Especially if it is a high priced item and I'm purchasing it online. I look for the best price, the best shipping cost and the best return policy if I should need it.
If it's something at a store I can drive to, I look for the best possible price and return policy.

Well the first is cost of the item. Then how much money do I have. Last and most important Do I need it or want it. Usually it ends up being just something I want then I save myself some money.

i usually ask myself first if i need it or if i just want it really bad. if its a necessary item, i but it right away, however, if i just want it then i
decide whether i could live without it for a while until it gets cheaper, when it goes on sale buy it!!!
