So this isn't the answer you are looking for, but seriously the best thing you can do now is give up on being popular it is not worth it, the friends you make if you are popular usually aren't real friends. Just focus on making or building the relationships you already have so that when you leave school you will still have those strong friendships. Being popular is very superficial, don't go down that road.

If you already have lots of friends you don't need to worry.
Why do you feel the need to have the 'right' friends?
You are very lucky as you are .... some people have no friends at all !!!
Be happy as you are. If you try and change and mix things up and make friends with people you are not naturally in with now you might have some problems fitting in and then you would be even more discontent ... you cant force friendships!
Good luck!

Be yourself. To be popular isnt all its cracked up to be (trust me), and it shouldnt mean all that much. Ive found that i am more "popular" when i am myself and dont try to fit in because people can tell im being genuine.

You should stop trying so hard to be popular, it's not all it's cracked up to be. In 5 years (which is a ridiculously short amount of time, you'll see...) it won't matter to ANYONE who you were in your school days.

i suggest that you go sit at the table with the geekest kids in school. hear their stories about how they get treated by the "popular" kids.
maybe then you won't want to fit in so much.
think about it....
do you really want to be another "one"
make a difference in somebody's life. talk to the shy boy the corner who wears glasses.
be who you are inside, and you'll be loved for it
