If you have a pawn shop in your area try that. You will get a good deal and be able to try it out before you buy it. Also, some music stores sell used instruments that they have taken in trade when they sell a new instrument to some one else.

Check ebay or the pennysaver. You usually can get great deals on new or very gently used guitars.
