My idea(s) on how to be successful in life has changed throughout the decades. I remember as a young man, in my teens, that I could only think of big money and "big" women (babes), and all that those could bring to me. Then, the pursuit of university degrees necessary to establish a successful career of my choice became my "goal in life", and then having a successful marriage and family, and then the combination of successful career and adequate money to raise my family became my priority, and then it was just to raise my kids as best I could after my wife divorced me, and of course money was seen as an important factor there, and now that my kids are grown (ages 21 and 22), and I'm doing okay financially, I have found that if I had just focused on God, as in Jesus our Christ, back some 25 or 30 years ago, everything else would've been just fine, but, I was just too immature to realize that fact, and so wasted a lot of time and energy chasing the cheap things in life to measure my success by. I can't say I'm not thankful for the financial security that clearly God has provided, however, I wish I had focused on God for God's sake decades ago, then I wouldn't have wasted so much time. God Bless you.

Be prepared. It is said that luck is when preparation and opportunity meet. AS YOU ARE GETTING YOUR EDUCATION, be the best that you can be. Don't cheat yourself by just sliding by. This will follow you all your life. Focus on school. Do all other things really matter at present? Pick a role model, someone you admire as being successful, and find out all you can about how this person "made it". Talk to successful people. Share with them what you want to achieve in lfe. Will they be willing to talk with you? You bet. You might even end up with a couple of mentors. Study hard and always make sure your homework is done!

A man or women could live in a cabin in the mountains and be the most successful person in the world. Its all what you define as successful. Of course main stream society puts alot of pressure on having material possessions to define ones success.

Education is not at all times the key to a successful life. Just take for example Bill Gates, he is a college drop out but look at him he is the richest man on earth today! What is important is you should have focus on your goal --- and to attain this you should be industrious and patient!

One of my favorite quotes is by Henry Ford. He said "whether you believe you can, or believe you can't either way you are right."
Also:
Check out these two websites. The material at them gave me a paradigm shift that has been unbelievable.
One website will provide the tools for the fundamentals of the mindset we need to have to be sucessful. This one is more of the emotional training.
The other website will provide the tools available for the fundamentals of the "know how." This one is the more academic training. The concepts these people teach also are geared toward learning how to be sucessful monetarily, however I have found that the skills I have learned and am still learning apply not only to business but EVERY aspect of my life.
SUCESS IS A JOURNEY, NOT A DESTINATION!
When I finally realized what this really meant, then I finally learned that I could acheive joy on a daily basis, not when I obtained "sucess," and isn't that why we all seek to obtain sucess because of the joy that lies therein?

you can be successful by having a realistic sense of what successful means. I think I'm successful because even though I do not have much, everything I do have I own, and I am happy with what I do have. I may not have alot of material things but my life is good........success!!!!!!

Success is something you get when you've obtained the thing you want the most. Most people associate this with fortune, and that is a part of success if that what they live their life to obtain. Success isn't limited to money. People may want to obtain love, faith, pleasure, and all sorts of other things. People who don't obtain what they want live in despair because they couldn't achieve a level of success. It's all about what you want the most.

The want.
That is the ONLY thing that you need to be successful. If you want success and work at it hard enough, you will get it. It might not come in the form that you first imagined, but it will happen. Being born to rich parents and all that can help, or it can hinder. But, the want and the drive will get you there.

To be successful means to be able to buy the necessities required for a happy life. And to be successful means to have the money to pay for nice things like automobiles, cars, clothes and travel. You can also be successful by making wise choices. To acquire these things you have to be educated and/or be very ambitious. My niece went back to school and now makes three times what she did make.
