Check around at some thrift stores in your area. Or do like I did and look around at different department stores (Proffit's, Dilliards, etc) and maybe you can find one on sale.

Alot of times people advertise in the paper . maybe only worn once . Although no one really wants someone else's prom dress.
sometimes thrift stores .There are people out there that dont have the money for the prices they get so it is possible some would go to this type of resource for a gown .
No One has to no , nothing to be ashamed of . Better having a gown and go , then not go , because you cant afford one .
In Bridal Shops Prom Dresses are high , mostly over $250.00 and higher .

You could rent one? Durring my prom I went to a store that rented prom dresses, wedding dresses, or those children pagent dresses. Saved me a boat load on a dress I would only wear once :)

im not really familiar with that area but try going to rental stores, its much cheaper than buying or have a dress be made for you. or you can borrow as well, from friends who've had their prom some time ago.
