It is technically physically impossible to have a "normal" period while you are pregnant. The whole point of a period is to flush everything out of the uterus that is NOT needed when an egg DOESN'T implant. Therefore a period would result in what is known as a miscarriage. Now I had some bleeding at week 12 that drove my doc to give me an ultrasound...but it was from a lower cervical tear. Bleeding can occur from this or rough sex or an irritated cervix but the bleeding is NOT coming from your uterus (and don't forget the fact that the uterus is sealed off by a bag of waters AND a mucus plug, so blood couldn't escape your uterus anyway...So anyone telling you they had a normal period...well I just gave about 5 reasons a TRUE period is not possible...

Yes some women have normal periods when they are pregnant. My cousin did up to her 6th month (she didn't even KNOW she was pregnant) I had normal periods through my 10th week. Yes I KNEW I was pregnant. However any bleeding that occurs you should consult your doctor with.

A woman can bleed during her pregnancy but it is not called a period. If you have had unprotected sex and believe you could possibly be pregnant then take a test.
