having connection problems to my dad's computer... he's good with computers and has turned off his firewalls, but we're not getting a connection. he is on a wireless network, I was wondering if that prevents the remote assistance feature from working??

You have to 'enable' remote assistance on both computers. Also, the best way to access it is to 'send an e-mail'.....Windows Messenger doesn't work as well.

Type 'remote assistance' in Help and Support and you'll get info. I've used it wirelessly but it has to be 'enabled'.

I never liked windows remote assistance. I suggest getting vnc (its free). You can remotely control any computer on your network from anywhere. It's easy to use and easy to set up.

i could say enable distant laptop on the xp professional gadget and hook up with it from the vista...yet while the xp gadget is joined to an internet site ecosystem and the vista isn't - this wont paintings. alter your firewall placing on the xp gadget (in case you have one) to permit distant laptop connections. no wireless network wont stop it from working I just did it from my homebased comp and my wireless laptop
