I have certain desires that I prayer for, such as protection of my marriage, that I would be a good husband and father, etc. I pray for things like enough clients to keep my business going, etc.
But I also pray that God conforms my desires to his will and this he make his will known. Prayer is communication, not a wish list or a speech from one person to the other.

I do make certain requests in my prayers to God -- such as the health of the man I love, and his family , the health and well being of my children.
If a friend or someone at church has a prayer request then that is included in my prayers, which may be something more specific.
But I always keep in mind that God answers prayer in His own way which may not be how you expected. God' s ways are not our own, and whatever happens is always according to His will.

I follow my heart and I kind of know already what God wants me to do because He leads me. Recently I prayed for a good man named Gary at Indiana University Medical Center who is going through cancer with my sweetheart as we all agreed in prayer. I believe that God meant for it to be that way.

It depends on the circumstances. Sometimes I pray for something and ask God to help me if it is His will. Then other times I make certain requests, such as to please help a person with an illness to recover.

God's will for me and my will for myself are one and the same.I usually pray for guidance in choosing the right path, I always ask "God, please help me do what is right" I want to make the choice that is the most logical. ethical, upstanding, and loving choice that I can. I think of it as making the decision that God would make if He were me, but still it is ultimately me making the choice! Of course I sometimes do make requests too!

I pray in thanks. I pray in redemption. I pray for many things, during many times of the day. I pray for the troops to come safely home. For my mom to stay well yet another day. For my husband to be safe. For my friends to be happy. I rarely pray for myself. I believe that whatever happens to me is God's will and I pray to one day, fully understand what His wants of me are.

I ask God to show me what his will for me is, that way I will know to pray for what God wants for me, and not to pray for what I want for myself.
