Your hymen, which some people call the cherry, is a membrane inside the vagina which is very sensitive. It can be broken in a number of ways, from horse back riding, exercising, using tampons, etc. (too many to list). Doctors know that there are various causes of the hymen being broken, and no, they won't suspect you are having sex just because yours is broken. As for the doctor's telling your parents, they have what is known as doctor-patient confidentiality. In other words, they cannot, by law, give any information to your parents without your consent.
Hope this helps.

You may have broken the hymen, at least partially. I wouldn't recommend trying to experiment with tampons until you are actually having your period, because they will absorb the normal moisture from the vaginal tissues and be very difficult to both insert and remove. When the time comes for you to have your first pap smear and physical, the only thing the doctor will notice is whether the hymen is intact or not. Hymens come in all sizes, dear- some of them almost completely cover the vaginal canal, some barely are there, and in some cases they are completely absent. They can be broken or stretched by something as simple as doing the splits, riding a bike, or a tampon. Not having one doesn't mean you are not a virgin anymore. Virginity refers to sexual penetration by a man, not a piece of skin being there or not. At any rate, the doctor who does your exam won't make mention of your hymen one way or another, and not at all to your mother. You won't get into any trouble at all. Before you try with the tampons again, though, you want to discuss them with your mom. For starters, tampons do come in various sizes and absorbancies- and being a young lady you might do best with a slender or regular type. And wait to try them until you actually are having your period. It will make things a lot easier for learning. Even so, you may still find them difficult or possibly impossible to wear. Depending on how intact that hymen is, it may be uncomfortable or you will have trouble getting one into the proper position. If you are able to wear them comfortably, then great. You are still a virgin, either way. Tampons won't change that at all. I have three daughters. One could wear them at 16, one just recently was able to be comfortable with them, and the youngest isn't able to insert one at all yet. So it all just depends. And yes, they are all virgins.

You probably tore your hymen at least a little bit.
A doctor won't typically take a look at you during your exam, and go running from the room to find your mother and rat you out. He's not going to tell her outright that he's seen what's left of your hymen and that you're absolutely not a virgin any longer. That's just silly.
There's more than one way (i.e., sex) to break a hymen...as you have found out. Just because you don't have an in-tact hymen does NOT mean that you've been sleeping around, nor does it mean that you're about to start doing so.
You're not going to be in trouble. And frankly, I would talk to your mother if I were you about using tampons. Does she use them? If so, she might be able to give you some pointers. I started using them when I was 14 and have never regretted it.

Unlikely. You cannot break your hymen with a tampon. It's not big enough. (Even IF you did, you are STILL a virgin. The ONLY way to lose your virginity is by sexual intercourse.)
Since you're not on your period and tried putting a tampon in there, you hurt (scratched) yourself. Inside there is very sensitive. You'll heal soon.
I tried it once when I was a virgin and had the same thing. I know it was not my hymen because I still couldn't get Super Plus tampons in and I had sex for the first time a year later and bled like crazy and hurt like heck. I could use Super Plus tampons after that.
If you broke your hymen, you would definitely know because you would have a lot of pain too. Plus you would have a lot of bleeding, not a little.
Never experiment with tampons when you're not on your period because you can hurt yourself.

NO WORRIES my dear friend.
Numerous things can cause your 'cherry' to pop. Everything from sex to tampon usage to riding horses or bicycle injuries. With the exception of semen inside you or other severe vaginal injuries, there's no way a doctor can be 100% sure that you have had sex.
And, your doctor can't tell your mom anyways. :-) If there's anyone you should always be open with, it's your doctor.

No worries. A woman can break her hymen from falling, or any vigorous activity, like horseback riding. It is no big deal. That does not mean you are not a virgin. Plus, the doctor would not tell your mom. Your doctor would probably ask if you are sexually active anyway.
