where are you from? if it's an urban area, this will be much easier for you. the best way to start is by selling something small with a relatively high profit margin, like graphic t-shirts, and selling them by word of mouth. if you're not already in some scene (art, hip-hop, industrial, etc) then you need to know what's going on where you live - visibility and desirablility are a must. you should create a strong image and build your brand slowly. you can always add shoes and the whole line you're envisioning later on.

try designing a tee shirt and then uplaod it at www. threadless.com and peeps will vote on it and if it getts good votes they will make it into a tee shirt for you and split profits
