My 29 year old boyfriend insistes on spanking my 15 year old daughter as a last resort...is this inappropriate?

The guy is only 14 years older then your daughter. Sounds like the guy is a pervert and you have to ask? What the hell is wrong with you. Spanking a 15 year old. How old are you? Something isn't right.

Yes, I'd say it is. That is not his daughter and he has no right to be hitting her like that. Even more so, that he is your boyfriend and not even her stepfather.
Plus, 15 is a little old to be getting spanked, especially be a member of the opposite sex. Also, the age gap between your daughter and boyfriend is only 14 years. Really not that much at all. The spanking could be more then you think.
I would stop it. If he doesn't like it, tell him to get out. Plus, why are you letting your boyfriend discipline your child. That's your job.

Hi, well I'm thinking that your boyfriend needs to step out of things between you and your daughter for one thing, he's 29 and saying to spank her as a last resort don't listen to that garbage she is a young lady. Take things away from her that she likes I mean whatever your doing is great just be consistent with her and don't give in to her. Don't get down on yourself, it's very hard to be a parent, just hang in there your doing fine.

I don't believe boyfriends should spank children that's aren't their own. What on earth makes him think he has the right to spank her? Not to mention she's way too old for spankings. There comes a time in a person's life when you can reason with them. Your boyfriend really shouldn't get involved. If you lose your boyfriend you can get another one. If you lose your daughter, you will lose your mind. Don't make a choice you and her will regret for a life time.

Spanking a 15 year old should not be necessary. Suspension of privileges and good heart to heart are more effective on these age groups.

I wouldn't let a boyfriend of mine ever touch my children no matter how old they are. A 15 yr old girl getting spanked by him, sounds like he may be getting some kind of sexual pleasure out of it. So, no...it isn't appropriate, and I wouldn't even allow him near my daughter.

My previous father would spank me when I did wrong- and don't get me wrong. It worked OH it worked. Because it hurt so much and I didn't like the pain. But it also grows a violent resort attitude. When I get annoyed I tend to be violent. I wouldn't suggest it- though if absolutely NOTHING else works, (Which I bet yes SOMETHING else will work) I suppose it's alright.

If you are serious about this then you need to end your relationship with your boyfriend and make sure that he didn't do anything to your daughter.

It definitely is not appropriate. Tell him to keep his hands of of your daughter. If she is to get spanked, and at fifteen, she's too old for that, you do it. Start talking to her, and try to treat her as an adult. She is at the age, where you have to give her respect, in order to get respect.

i think at 15 years old spanking is inappropriate...he must show her the respect he wants in return or she will rebell...tell him to wait until she asks for something and you will say no as a punishment....
