Hmmm... well let's be fair here. Last time I looked, a president does not pass a budget, congress does. And yeah, Dubya and Congress got together and decided to spend one whole lot of money they didn't have because they gave it all back.
I would point out, the times we had surplusses were because congress was a different party from the President, so all his pet projects did not go through without a fight.
And that big surplus under Clinton was due more towards Newt Gingrich and his crew then Clinton. Newt, bless his pointy little head, closed down government twice rather than raise the debt ceiling. Clinton was busiliy accepting the credit for the surplus after it was made clear to him he wasn't going to get to spend it.
So tracking the presidents against the deficit alone probably is not fair to the presidents. NIxon ran a surplus (snicker, snicker). Er, guess which party owned congress at the time. See what I mean?

This is the first administration that ever admitted to just flat out losing billions of dollars. Did it get into the hands of terrorists? Was it used under the table for things other than the budget called for? If so, then what is the point of debating the issue when we don't know where the money actually ends up anyway? Its a secret like everything else for the last 6 years of total incompetence, disregard for the American people, and governmental chaos. Transparency, please.

Interesting graph. A Republican who spends through debt is just as bad as a Democrat who spends through taxation.
What we need are leaders who will cut BOTH taxation and spending.

In case you missed who controlled the purse strings during the Clinton administration it was the GOP.
What is your explanation for the pork the Democrats are slapping onto the military spending bill???

The right spends my money to prop up foreign dictators who allow the rich to exploit the world's resources for their near exclusive profit. They also spend money to make war, in order that their friends make money.
The left spends money improving health, education, environment, transportation. They also like to spend money for day care centers, instead of supporting moms to raise their own kids, which kids need. However, to be fair, the right forced them into the welfare 'reform' that requires poor women to work sub minimum wage jobs while their children are forced into day care with middle class stay-home moms who get govt vouchers for the care and tax deductions for their supplies and home care (maid service, e.g.)
I'd like to see the left get to spend our money for helping families really well and efficiently with universal health care, social security credits for mothering and caring for dying parents, and paid maternity leaves.
