I'm thinking of getting an Ipod. But I have a really big music collection, about 2,000 songs. But they didn't come from Itunes I don't even have Itunes.

Ipods are really alot of money I don't want to spend alot of money on something that isn't compatable. Will the music I have play on an Ipod. I'm not sure what exact format they are either MP3 or WAV I use my Windows Media Player to play my music.

you do not have to purchase music from itunes to play it on your ipod. As long as the file name for your music does not say protected WMA file then you are fine itunes can convert any file to a Mp3 or an AAC (prefered music file for an ipod)

Ipods cost much but have very good quality compared to other mp3 players. Ipod can play songs that are on mp3 or apple loseless formats like AAC. You can download itunes free on www.itunes.com If the ipod cannot play it you can just convert it by right clicking the song on itunes that you want to convert and click convert selection for ipod and done. If you want to put 2,000 songs to an ipod I suggest getting the ipod video 30GB, it costs $250 but it can hold 7,500 songs and 40 hours of video.
