i have been playing system of a down songs.....in drop c (b/c im playing the old stuff)...i hate the muddy sound...do you think i could play the same stuff in drop d? also...what are their settings on their amps? b/c when i try doing their slides...i get too much distortion..and when i turn the distortion down..the rest of the songs sound too light...

Yes, you can play their stuff in drop D. It might not sound exactly like the album, but it's just transposed up a step. And I think the amps tend to be bass and mid heavy, with treble at half or 3/4 of the entirety. Very little reverb. Not much distortion, I think Daron cracks up the gain on the amp, but he uses an overdrive pedal for the heavier parts. And the reason you can't get the heavier parts is because the bass guitar usually does the heavier "crunch" so it's easy to mix up the guitar and the bass.
