"Every commander on the ground in Iraq is claiming that we're WINNING the war. I heard one general say that the US military has not lost a single engagement since the invasion.

And yet liberals call it a mess.

What do you think? Do liberals think that America winning is a mess? Are they embarrassed by it?

So CAN ANYONE PLEASE TELL ME WHY ALL THE TOP GENERALS THAT SAID WE SHOULD BE PULLED OUT OF IRAQ, ARE ALL FIRED, AND THE ONES THAT AGREE WITH BUSH ARE IN POWER?

Propaganda had been part of every war since always and the manipulation of numbers too. In the WW II the propaganda used by the 3RD reich was that Nostradamus had predicted the war and that Germany would win the war, the allies used the same system saying the opposite. Now is important for Bush to have a good image, even when the attack to Iraq was based in a lie, but since we are there we need the public attention to say that we are helping the people from Iraq from the extremists and dictators. The bombs for massive destruction that Iraq allegedly had were the 1ST reason for the invasion of Iraq, but the bombs weren't found, after that the excuse was elimination of the terrorists, but there had been more destruction after the capture of Saddam Hussein. Now, How can they deny the dead of soldiers among our troops? You most be blind to do that, there are many families who had received the certification of a killed relative in the field, but is as I mentioned before, the management of the propaganda to keep a vision of our duties as a good one before the world's nations for a possible future support. The same thing happend in Vietnam, where we went as a support and the war finishe been between USA and Northern Vietnam. The cost in dollars and in human lives had been higher than the thought by Bush and his administration, so to keep you, the people with a vision that can make you believe that every dollar used in the war is woth it, when it isn't and that every single life there wasted had been for a good reason. What the new forces will do when for example the new ones in there won't have a good bullet aprove vests? Because the real cost of the war had been to high and now the new troops and the spare ones will have less protection than before. Perhaps all the mentioned, the atitude of the troops isn't the same as before because they are looking the reality of the non-sense war, which stopped to be against the terrorits to be against the people of Iraq, and that wasn't the idea from our behalf to get into Iraq. We thought to defend our country against the immediate manace and now we are sorrounded by the terrorists, who are comming from other countries, and the sectary fights, but the propaganda has to be handle to show to the new possible recruts out there that we are winning and that there's nothing to be afraid of.

Many of the generals were changed because they are awarded that this is not the war they were sent there for, Bush changed them for fresh generals with the Bush vision about this war, isn't the they didn't trust them, is that they aren't blind no more and they are tire about seeing how their soldiers are killed without a good reason.

At least the Bush propaganda won't be trust either by me and either my family, I had to come back due I can't fight any more, I almost loose my leg in an attack, but my cousin wasn't that lucky, he killed by a land mine, so I know how war can touch us and in the different ways that it does it, my body healed thanks God, even when my leg isn't the same, but I'm here, but nothing will bring my cousing back. Go ahead Mr. Bush and all those generals who are saying they didn't have a single lost, let me tell you one thing one live lost is too many already. God bless my brothers who are there yet waiting to hug thier children, wives, parents, etc.

I really do not understand why this is such a political football, but folks don't seem to want to deal with the issue at hand which is:

What are we trying to accomplish in Iraq?

On a real plane, not a philisophical one. What do we want the place to look like when we leave. And we are going to leave at some point.

Nail that one down, and the next question is easy:

Is there anyway we can accomplish that goal?

If there is, and #1 is worth the cost, then do it.

If not, then get the hell out.

It really is that simple. So, anybody have an answer to #1?

Please fact check before you post. The generals you refer to were not active duty generals. They are intitled to their opinions. I think about 17 of them. Do you know how many retired generals there are currently in America? Thousands.

No active duty General should ever go on the record critcsizing the Commander-in-Chief no matter what. Especially while troops are engaged.
