I did not have that, but I did have similar... difficulties. Since a c section is abdominal surgery, and major surgery no matter how routinely it's done, it can be touch and go with the g.i. tract afterwards, sometimes for months following. I would reccomend talking to your doctor, or at least an advice nurse about it.

My first thought was "uh-oh, I think I know exactly what that is".
I just had my daughter 6 months ago, and almost immediately after, started having the pain you are describing. Although I didn't have a c-section, I don't think this problem is exclusive to that method of birth.
The pain eventually got worse and worse every time I would get these "attacks", until one day I had to rush to the ER to get it checked out. And you know what they told me?
Apparently, it's become MUCH more common these days for new mothers to aquire gallstones during pregnancy and after birth. I don't know why, but that's what several doctors told me.
More than likely, they will tell you (if this is the case, after all) that there is no "treatment" for the gallstones because they have no way of passing like kidney stones would. So their suggestion would be to get laproscopic surgery--this is an outpatient type of surgery which involves cutting a small hole in the chest, and inserting a tube which would essentially "suck" the stones out.
But seriously, I will be praying hard for you. I have never had surgery of any kind, and didn't believe that I had to start now. I prayed hard for a month or two, over my body, and I don't have any symptoms whatsoever, anymore. Praise Jesus! :)

I had a c-section with my daughter and normal birth with my first. Two completely different things. The c-section was much harder and a longer recovery. The gas pain is very normal, I had it for a few month after my daughters birth. Rest assure that it will go away, but dont hold back that can cause more pressure and pain. I would let your doc know too. I think that alot more air for some reason gets into your body during a c-section maybe cuz they have you wide open and you dont have a chance to push all that unwanted stuff out during regula child birth. Anyway it will go away and congrats on your new one, get much rest your going to need it.

I did.

How often do you pass a bowel movement? Once I took a stool softner/day for a week or so, I began having a b.m. every day. That REALLY helped.

Also invest in some Tums. At least for me they helped.

Of course, you'll be seeing your doctor soon for your postpartum check-up. If this is REALLY getting to be a pain, talk to him/her about it. It can happen to some women, but not all.

The area you are describing sounds like where your gallbladder is. Could be gallstones. Have you noticed if it is worse after you eat a fatty meal?

Definitely consult with your doctor.

Good Luck

i had two c-sections but never had this problem. It probably is just gas so buy some tums or rolaids. But I would talk to your doctor about it just to be safe.

you are going to feel sore for a while longer. just try not to lift up more than your new baby. take care of your tummy... and i am sure that it is just gas pains. i would call my doctor just to be safe and sure. your doctor would be the only one who would give you the best advice. i wish you the best of luck... and congrats on your new bundle of joy!! try maybe a heating pad... or maybe a nice bath. who knows.....

Yeah, you just need to walk a lot and keep doing what you are doing. It will go away, it just takes time for your body to readjust after a c-section.
