How common is it to not have hope for the future. I'm in my early 30s -- I used to think there was always hope for happiness but I don't believe it anymore. Is this what happens as you get older? Does hope only belong to youth? Do we all have to just shut up and settle for mediocre happiness (if even that)???

Nope, hope doesn't judge people by their age, gender, race, religion, whatever. How can mediocre happiness be considered as true happiness? Think about it, would you truly be happy if your happiness was mediocre? There will always be a sense of something missing, don't you think so?

I am a youth and I see no hope for me. It is a common misconception that hope exists for those who have the time to have it come true. Hope exists for those who truly seek it.

Sounds like your a bit depressed. Hope is a dangerous thing to loose.

I'm 21, and there are times when I've lost hope.. you just never give up, thats all.

When you're young, you honestly don't know what you're capable of. As time passes, you kind of figure it out. It's easy to feel let down. I feel better when I remind myself my expectations were a little crazy. I know where my boundaries are now and have actually achieved some good things because of that.
