Plummer has taken his team to the playoffs many times in previous years.

Plummer has always been under rated and disrespected. No, he isn't and elite qb who takes his team to the next level, but he does give a team some advantages.
Garcia on the other hand is pathetic. I watched him this whole last year(I'm an eagles fan), and I could not believe my ears when all of a sudden the commentators started talking about him like he was the reason for the eagles success. He was just along for the ride. He didn't make good decesions on the field. He got lucky a lot( dropped int's, blown coverages), and he had a great roster step up around him. The only thing I did like about him was his attitude. The way he would try and run over line backers to get the first down. That said, neither his ability to play with that attitude, or his luck, can last that long. He's one hit away from never playing again and luck runs out.

I would rather have Garcia as my QB because he's a gamer. I watched Garcia as a 49er, and watching him pick himself up off the turf time after time. We used to joke about him pulling up his socks! But you gotta admire the way he kept going. It was sad to see him in Detroit, but his re-emergence in Philly was nice.

Yes, Plummer does have a tenacity about his game too, but he gets overambitious in the clutch. He has happy feet. He has a great arm, but he can't scramble and throw it downfield with any zip like in his Arizona days. It's something QB's don't do well. And those that do are not smart to rely on it.

Part of what makes a great player and not a great athlete is knowing what you can and cannot do. While Jake Plummer is a better overall athlete than Jeff Garcia, he doesn't know his limitations, and gets picked in the clutch a lot trying to make the perfect pass. Perhaps Garcia needs more help around him, but he knows which throws he can and cannot make, and that makes him more efficient and cool under pressure.

Also, given the Broncos willingness to go to Jay Cutler last year, it would seem that either guy would only be playing a year or two in Denver anyway. So even if Garcia is 37, he could last that long.

Garcia has led the 49ers to the playoffs even when they were crumbling apart. Plus, Jon Gruden has success with older quarterbacks (Brad Johnson=Super Bowl with Bucs). I believe Jeff Garcia is the guy to go with because he really is a decent quarterback. He did great with the 49ers, but had problems in horrible teams such as the Lions and Browns, however, he came back nice with the Eagles. Don't be suprised if either Plummer or Garcia give the Bucs a huge push into the playoffs.

It doesn't matter if its Plummer or Garcia. They are both too old, and neither of them will ever win a Superbowl before they retire because they're not that good of quarterbacks. Thats why Garcia has been riding the bench for the last few years and Plummer got benched last season.

I would rather have Garcia at the quaterback position. At this point it doesn't seem like Plummer is really interested in playing unless he can pick the team. Plummer also seems to have a history of choking in the playoffs.

Plummer was about to take the Broncos to the playoffs before he got bench to give the rookie some experience. Garcia was a good QB- either can produce at TB. TB has alot of issues right now- lack of offense!!!
They need a new O.C- and IF I was in management at TB- I would have went after Joey Harrington

I think Plummer was hoping to go to the TEXANS and thats the reason he would rather retire- MAYBE TB will trade him to the Texans and it might involve Carr getting waived or traded

Garcia wasn't exactly setting the world on fire before he got to Philly. Maybe last year was the real deal for him or maybe it was a fluke that he can cash in on . We shall soon see.
Jake Plummer is not a great qb nor will he ever be but he is a lot better than the starting qbs of some NFL teams : Miami, Dallas, Atlanta, Chicago, NYG, Detroit , Oakland, Houston and as such I think that he deserves to be a starter somewhere.

I dont know if I would rather have Plummer or not. You do have a point about Garcias age though. Besides, Plummer wants to play where he is guaranteed a starting job. He does not want to compete for it.

sorry killer chick, but i am afraid to tell u that Plummer is just one of many mediocre qbs in the professional game of football. he could never take Broncos past the championship, great players win championships, Plummer was far away from there. oh, and talking about garcia, i can tell u that i also think he is an average qb who has had luck in the systems he has played.

no way...plummer has taken those teams to the playoffs on the strength of running games and an offense which was built to his strengths...tampa bay's is also built somewhat to his strengths, however garcia has been a more consistent performer over the course of his career and has proven even though he is old that he is a winner still, and he gave the eagles the lift they needed, along with the defense, to win the division
