own one or more pet rats? And what are they like?

I own 2 rats, Billie and Toby. Billie's the girl and Toby's the boy. They're housed together, but they can't breed bc Billie's infertile now. They've been living together ever since Toby was a baby bc he needed someone to mellow him out and put him in his place. Problem is, Billie pushed him around so much that now, when she's older, he's much bigger and is getting her back for it!

The last time I counted, I had 549 pet rats. That was nearly a year ago, and I think they're over 2000 by now.
They ate my wife last January, and are outside my bedroom door now.

huh ! what you mean that how many of you ? are you askin us how many pets we own with different animals or just only asking how many people who does have rats for pets . i know that i odnt have any rats at my house. just a pets dog, fish, cat. that all .

I had 8 at one time. I had 5 girls and three boys (not together- the boys and girls were seperate) and they were my heart. Think of them as little dogs. They learn their names, they come when you call them, they even give you little rattie kisses. They are THE best little pocket pets. I just can't have them anymore because they only live about 2-3 years and I can't handle loosing them. They have such strong little personalities. Each one is different than each other. They are quiet, clean, easy, and relitively cheap to care for (unless a vet visit is needed).
I miss them so much! <3

I've had hamsters before, but I've never had any rats. I know that rats are supposed to be smart, from what I've heard about them.

I got a Chinese dwarf hamster and he is pretty cool
