We are flying from California to Maryland to meet up with the rest of my siblings and some of my other family then we are traveling some more to go on a Jamaican cruise. Would this be safe for a 1 year old and 2 month old?

Nope no other adult flying. Just me and my boyfriend who is also 16 and of course our kids. We do not live with our parents and support ourselves.

It's definitely safe - I flew with my son when he was just a few months old. Make sure you have something for the baby to drink/suck on at take off and landing (nurse/bottle/pacifier) to help their ears. If you can, book a flight at nap time so they will nap for you for some of the flight. Take a huge bag of toys, books, snacks, and stuff to entertain your one-year-old. It will probably be totally exhausting for you, but it's definitely doable. You can take your stroller right up to the gate and the baggers will take it for you at the door, and get it off at the door when you arrive - this made life so much easier for me. I'd check to make sure there is medical staff on the cruise (most of the big ones do) just in case anything happens while you are gone. And I'd check on the passport requirements for your kids since they just put that new law into effect. I don't know if it also applies to minors, but better to know ahead of time. Good luck, and have a blast! Jamaica is a wonderful place!!

yeah, flying is not a problem for that age. Some airlines will let the 2 month old fly for free and you just sit her in your lap. Request to get bulkhead that way you will have more room in front of you for the 2 year old to play on the plane. Bring lots of things for her to do and when you are taking off and landing just feed the 2 month old so her ears don't pop too much. It will make her a lot more comfortable. Good luck. I know how hard it is to fly with little ones.

Hello. I'm expecting a baby of my own soon and I intend to fly to England when the baby will be only 2 months old. You ask for a bassinet seat in the plane and the one year old could probably sit on your lap. As far as the cruise goes I'm sure it would be fine too. Anyway ask your travel consultant for more advice if you are still worried. good luck!

They can fly, there is no minimum age for airpane passengers. Check the Internet, there are some sites that have tips for travelling with infants. For the baby, try to feed him during take off and landing. It will help neutralize the pressure change in his ears. For the older child, give him a sippy cup or snack during those times. Take plenty of diapers, extra clothes, any medications, food, formula, whatever you may need. On most American carriers you needn't pay for a seat for a child under 2, but you must hold them in your arms for takeoff and landing. Hopefully another adult is travelling with you.

The one year old is fine, As for the 2 month old, please ask your docter as there are certion cases where the ears get damaged due to difference in pressure as the airplane takes off. It might not be safe for the baby.
As for fly tips, well the usual apply , diapers, feeding bottles etc that you would take on any trip with babies. make sure you keep the kids hydrated as airplane environments are very dehydrating.

I have two questions for you. How come in one question you said that you had step kids and one was like 13 and then in the other you had a two year old? Just wondering because that is what your other questions say.
Anyways its fine to fly with a one and 2 month old, dont let them nap all before that so then they will sleep on the plane.

you should check with the airline for the 2 month old, different airlines have different age requirements, but the 1 year old definately, and the good thing they will both be free!

Yes it's safe for both of them to fly. It won't be easy with two small kids but yes they will be safe.

Pack as much as you can for the kids and as little as you can for yourself. Enjoy your cruise! Lucky you!
