Here is some info. If you want, I have a lot more that I can give you. This is written for people who are charting for conception, but I can give you more, just email me and let me know.

I hope it answers your questions. We are all different, some people use a panty liner all the time between periods because they seem to produce a fair amount of cervical fluid. Others don't need to. If it has an odour or has you concerned, it would be wise to discuss it with your Dr.

Once you learn to understanding the different types of cervical fluid and how to identify your most fertile times and peak days it can be a key indicator of potential ovulation. Your chart begins on the first day of menses during menses you can select any kind of mark that will identify it. Some will use a check mark, an X, a circle or highlight the days. It is not necessary to check your cervical fluid internally during your period, however if you have any spotting after you menstruation has started indicate spotting on your chart. 3 - 5 days after menstruation ends you may experience no fluid at all or a small amount of moisture. The mucus color can be clear to slightly white to a yellowish color and should dry immediately on your fingertips. It tends to be very dry in how it feels. For the next week or two you should notice that the fluids gradually become more moisture and smoother in texture. It will become less sticky and more lotion like or milky. As you approach fertile mucus, you will note that the overall vaginal sensation becomes wet. Fertile fluids can last three to five days. It looks and feels very much like the whites of an egg. It feels very slippery and the color should be clear or iridescent. You should find it to be very moist and often abundant in quantity. When pulled between the fingertips it will be very stretchy. Once the fertile time has passed your cervical fluid will quickly change back to dry and sticky or non existent, and will remain that way until you period. It is important that you document the type of fluid for that day on your fertility spreadsheet. Describing your fluid S (sticky) L (lotion like), M (milky), C (creamy), E (‘egg-white’ or other).
