Give it time

Mending a broken heart takes time, it won't happen over night. In the meantime try spending time with your family, meeting up with mates you haven't seen in a while and, laughter helps alot.

Time is a great healer, unless you've got a rash, then you're better off with ointment.

I'm going through the same thing right now too. Except he hurt me. I know the pain hurts, but in the mean time you can: talk a walk, listen to music, read a book, watch a movie [a movie can really help you get out of whatever is going on in your life], or if you're a college student, study. I promise it will help you take your mind off of what's going on and you won't be thinking of her. I know it still hurts, but with time, things can start to heal. Maybe in the future the two of you can talk about it. GOOD LUCK!

It takes time and trust me you'll get over this just have patience. In the meantime just go out and have fun and try to forget about her. When you do get over her and your heart isn't broken anymore you'll be happy and wonder why you felt the way you did. I'll never forget when my first boyfriend broke up with me I was devastated and heart broken but now when I look back at it I regret getting all upset over that loser and you will too but it just takes time.

What I do (having just reached end of current relationship so about to do right now and always works for me) is pretend they didn't/don't exist, remove everything to do with them and store it away - including their phone numbers, etc, perhaps book a holiday to do something different, stay away from places you hung out together, and ask friends not to bring up their name or talk about them/what they are up to in front of you. A few weeks later - bang - your are over them emotionally - it doesn't stop you feeling sad from time to time that it didnt work out but it certainly takes the reall downer you get away.

Also throw yourself into gym or new activities that keep you away from old familiar patterns.

Good luck!!!!

Accept that you'll have bad days but try to find things to do to take your mind off her. It's happened to the best of us but we do get over it. Book a ticket to a show,or go somewhere you always wanted to go put things in your future to look forward to.

you dont... yu just sort of get used to it and move on... although the getting used to it, and moving on may be many months apart... that depends on how much it hurts, on a scale of 1 to 10... if she ripped it out of your chest, still beating and stamped on it... well thats a mere number 1 on the scale...

chap, it happens, im 50 this year, and i can still remember giving elaine williams my catterpillar.. i was 8, and she was the most gorgeous girl i had ever seen... she move to australia and i was heartbroken... and she didnt give me back my catterpillar...

smile chap.. theres a lot of frogs to kiss before you find your princess...
