The baby boom is not defined by generation, it is defined by a statistical curve and an increase of births over normal levels.

There is little agreement as to the exact beginning and end dates of the baby boom, but it is popularly identified as starting in 1946 and ending in 1964.[2] [3] [4] The problem with this definition may be that this baby boom of 1946-64 is too long for a cultural generation while still being a period of increased births.

A lot of people want to define it as a single generation. These are people who do not understand the statistics (math) involved and
are in general clueless.

Myh understanding was 1945 (end of World War II armed forces members coming hom) to 1964 (most of these people entering their 40's (though some had kids it declined. 1965 was sometimes called generation Zero, followed by generation X 1966 to ????
