Social Security I don't know what the "I" is for. It's mainly for retirees, but I know a lot of people who fake mental disabilities for that check though. It's also for blind and deaf people too. It's to help them with everyday neccessities since they're unable to work.

If you are messing with your taxes then I bet they are talking about supplemental security income. It is designed to help blind, disabled and aged who have little or no income.
