it was damaged in a wreck, I have replaced the radiator and am sick of pumping money into it. I know how, just need to know if it will damage the tranny.

Don't plug the lines. Make a loop. That way fluid will still be flowing.

Yes by pass will work.Aux.cooler is installed for protection in pulling heavy loads, mountain driveing excetra. It also lets the factory rate the vehicle for a heavier load carrying and towing rating.Follow transmission lines and make sure they go through the lower radiator cooler first and then by pass as needed to alow this circulation through radiator cooler, make certain the flow goes into and returns to transmission. All vehicles are set up this way unless ordered with aux.cooler for heavy towing.

If you loop as suggested you should be fine as long as you don't try to pull anything, even then if you are going only short distances on fairly level ground you should be alright. Just remember if you smell the trany put in a new cooler. They aren't vary expensive. I may be wrong but I thought the radiator had a built in trany cooler. The added aux cooler was just for added protection under extreme conditions. Good Luck drive carefully

if the radiator has a cooler then you don't need the aux one unless you tow a lot of weight
