I'm just curious. In all honesty, I've never been out of the south. I've visited other countries but haven't yet got to discover all of mine. I'm only 17 though, I've still got time...

Southeastern food is more Native American and African in origin, and certain aspects of the culture are indigenous or came with the first Africans who were brought over by Euros. Northeastern food is more European usually, and from groups that came to the US very recently, like the Italians(they've only populated the area where I am in CT for about 80 years.) We value manners much more in the Southeast as well, and use them. I also noticed gardening is more popular in the Southeast than here in the Northeast too, strange but true.

People in the North tend more towards materialism too, I think. To them, the outside is everything. To Southeastern people and many Native people (I'm both,) the inside is the important part.

And yeah, Mishka, it's obvious that you don't know crap about our lifeways. That was ignorant, girl.

The southern united states have deeper family values and sens of community unlike the northern US that places more value on production and service. Do you need help with school work? Let me know I'll send you the essay.

likely one large difference will be people contained in the South frequently have extra comfortable personalities compared to people contained in the North. both the South and North have outstanding traits in my opinion, yet i'd quite stay conscious North.. particularly for NYC and Boston

The north is far more bigoted, less educated and and colder, mostly in the urban areas. In the rural areas it is about the same.

The north east is more fast paced. Usually more liberal. Also less country music fans.

the first one i thought of was southern hospitality - but when you think about it, it's just fake. being nice to someone's face even if you don't like them seems cottonpickin' rude ta me,y'all.
