I need to know the name of this song. There are no lyrics to the song, and it sounds like Joe Satriani is playing it.

um................... without a listen to the song, I can't really say... unless you're referring to the Top Gun theme song by Satriani, that's the only song I know that JS did that isn't on an album (besides Beethoven's 5th, but everyone knows that one).

So yeah, it's probably called the Top Gun Theme song by JS, so look it up... if it's not, then sorry, I'm as stumped as you are.

Other possibilities: Supercolossal, Surfing With The Alien, Summer Song

Based on my interpretation of the term "Western Theme", I would guess you heard "Starry Night" which includes a banjo in the background, a slow tempo, and it was aired on the radio quite heavily when the "Strange Beautiful Music" album was released back in '02. Naturally, I would go to iTunes and start sampling the last three or four albums Joe has released until you find it. While you're there, be sure and download "Tumble" it's an iTunes exclusive!
