i play the french horn and i practice very hard, only im second chair but first chair player never practices?

Question

what should i do, the first horn is a good friend of mine and she is always comming up with excuses when she cant play. when ever somthing is cut to one part she can never play it, she will sit there an learn it. what is your advice?

Is the first chair player as good as you are? If you are the better horn player, then you should try to become first chair. Play musical chairs. ♪♫ ♪♫

challenge her chair and get to be first chair yourself.
different places do it differently but as soon as you have a chance try to beat her for the chair.
