I use clinique's lash doubling mascara, but I hardly ever use it. I don't use it often because whenever I do, my eyes always end up stuck together. It's not that the mascara is clumpy, and I don't use too much. When I'm putting it on, they're defined and separated, and all that jazz. But as soon as the brush comes off they get all clumpy and spidery. What can I do to fix it? This only happens on one eye, btw.

Try fanning your eyes as soon as you put on your mascara so that it dries, and try not to blink until it is completely dry. The weather might also be hot and making your mascara run, so when you blink your lashes clump and stick together. Also Physicians Formula makes a clear mascara that works as a "sealant" to use over regular mascara..you put it on over your mascara and it seals it.

You mentioned that this only happens on one eye. I can see where you're coming from. My eyelashes are very different on my left than on my right eye. I always seem to like my right much better. Although mascaras formulas are usually very similar the wand can make a huge impact on the outcome. I would try using a different wand or purchase a new mascara tube that is proven to separate lashes. I hope this helped and best wishes!

I use a Revlon mascara (can't think of the name) that I really like.
Try changing from Clinique to another brand 'til you find something you like.
Are you familiar with RiteAid drugstores? They have a policy that if you buy cosmetics from them and you don't like them, you can take the product back (with receipt) for an exchange or refund.

maybe its just now the type of mascara for you ?
you can try a criss-cross action. instead of pulling the brush straight off your lashes, apply it in a criss-cross manner. if that doesn't work its time to get a different mascara!

another method of putting on mascara is by jiggling it on your eyelashes instead of combing it. Just kind of brush it on side to side rather than up and down. That way, you will have more thicker looking eyelashes. It works wonders on me.

get a double sided mascara, with primer and mascara, it doesnt have to be more than $10! only use the primer side, and let it dry and then use your quality mascara, and it should make it smooth, and that should work!!
