My wooden table had papers on it, and syrup got spilt on them, and now some paper is still stuck. I peeled off as much as I could. Is there a faster way to get it off?

* Try furniture polish... Put lots on, leave for awhile, then take a clean cloth and rub it off. Good Luck...

Get a sponge. Wet it with warm water, about what you'd wash dishes in. Put some dishwashing soap on it, one of the grease cutting soaps. Grab a towel, so you can soak up the water as soon as you're finished. Rub the sponge on the spot a few times. Gently, you're just doing a presoak. wait about 3 minutes then start rubbing the spot with the sponge again. This time actually trying to get the stuff off. If you're having difficulty getting it off then repeat this cycle a few times. This will not harm whatever finish you have on the wood. just make sure the water does not get on any unfinished wood. (That's also what the towel is for)

I have 2 kids and this proble a lot more than I would like to admit....I use a little dish detergent and HOT water and let it sit for a few minutes and peel it off with my fingernails. DO NOT USE A KNIFE! It will scratch the wood!

Get a sponge, or washcloth and soak it in water and then let it rest on the spot where there is paper. The paper will get moist and you can peel it off easier.

I would be careful not to harm the finish. Try some furniture oil, pour a bit on and let it stand for a minute then gently wipe away in a circular motion.

Put a damp cloth of some sort on it let it sit for a few minutes then you should be able to wipe it of with a little scrubbing effort.

Use a damp cloth - it must be damp enough to cause the paper to dissolve - it won't hurt your table if you don't let the water stand on the table.

put a layer of baby oil on it and let it soak for about 15 mins. then you should be able to wipe it up with a paper towel or sponge.
