If you have to ask you probably aren't. Attraction to the same sex is not the same as being gay. being gay means you can not fall in love with the opposite sex and you fall in love with the same sex.
It is not about sexual activity. Many people who claim to be gay are just scarred by past relationships or have a messed up perception of what it means to be "cool".
Those who are truly gay are so from birth as it is a birth defect.
That is not a judgement as I have gay friends who get my full respect. They can not choose and those who do choose to behave as gay minimalize the serious nature of the condition. Being trangendered is also a birth defect but noone takes offense when it is stated that way.

If you have intense sexual feelings, ( continually )for the same sex. I think people kinda know.
