I have been married for a couple years. My husband and I decide to get off the pill. On January 13 I took my last pill and had a period Jan. 15-20. However, I have not had a period since then (48 days now). I have taken several pregnancy test and even went in for a blood test at 38 days so I know I am not prego right now. I know that I just haven't started my period due to coming off the pill and my body being confused. My question is if it is possible to get pregnant before having another period. I am not overly concerned with become pregnant, I know it will happen when it's supposed to, but I just hate that my body is not doing what it should be right now. Just curious if anyone has had a similar situation and knows something about it.

Yes it is possible to become pregnant before having another period because pregnancy isn't determined by when you are actually menstruating... but by when you are ovulating and you will have to ovulate before another period will happen. With my daughter they were flipping me around on birthcontrol pills because my period was just gone and all of the pt tests came back negative well .. somewhere in there i wound up pregnant. I was 4 months before they did the blood test to find out for sure... but I hadn't had a period for almost 8 months.

I did the same thing. I didn't have a period for bout three months and wasn't pregnant. Then I had one that lasted about three days and then not again. I was pregnant the second time. The Dr said it could have been implanting or my period, it was too close to conception to be certain. Good luck getting pregnant!

Wow what a situation huh? I would suggest returning to your doctors and asking them for help to start your periods, they can do this with medication. But NO you cannot get pregnant without having a cycle, because this is release of the eggs cycle. You need to have a monthly regimen...cycle, ovulation, cycle...that is when and how you will become pregnant.
Again speak with your doctor and explain to them this is now 48 days and you want to discuss "jump" starting your cycles so you can start TTC...I do not believe your body is confused. I believe there could be other problems though, its best to get a full check up as well to be sure.

Some say that it takes a year for birth control to leave your system but I have heard of cases of women getting pregnant while on the pill so anything is possible. Your body is confused as you stated and right now it is trying to cleanse itself. To answer your question yes it is possible. Good Luck!
