I'm on my high school track team and run about 42 miles a week. Lately my achilles tendons have been hurting me. I would feel OK if they where just sore but they pop when I try to run on my toes. I'd be OK if they where just sore but they hurt after strenuous runs and I can't imagine this popping is a good thing. I plan on taking an ice bath tonight which should help some, but any advice would be opreciated.

An orthopedic doctor would be the better person to give you advise since he can examine your heel/foot, make the diagnosis, and prescribe the treatment needed.
