Do not use any military or foreign policy issues with Jimmy Carter ... his SALT agreements between Israel and Palestine failed; he made agreements with the chairman of the USSR and was tricked (10 countries became communist during his short presidency); he tried to withdrawl troops from South Korea, the only beach head from Scandinavia to Thailand.
His best accomplishment was reducing the speed limit to 55 mph that helped extend the fuel resources and made the western world a little less dependant on oil from the middle east.

Significant foreign policy accomplishments of his administration included the Panama Canal treaties, the Camp David Accords, the treaty of peace between Egypt and Israel, the SALT II treaty with the Soviet Union, and the establishment of U.S. diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China. He championed human rights throughout the world. On the domestic side, the administration's achievements included a comprehensive energy program conducted by a new Department of Energy; deregulation in energy, transportation, communications, and finance; major educational programs under a new Department of Education; and major environmental protection legislation, including the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act.

Jimmy Carter helped bring peace between Israel and Egypt. Israel was always under a constant threat of war with Egypt.
He also initiated what is known as the Carter doctrine and every President that has authorized military use in the Middle East has referred to it.
It's called protecting Americas interests in the region.. OIL, OIL, OIL.. and MORE OIL.

He got the speed limit down on the interstates nationwide to 55 mph, he also started the indian invasion of free grants to the Patels etc. for running convience stores, motels. I can't think of much Jimmy accomplished, he loves every communist dictator he meets. Jimmy Carter was the worst president we have had in modern times, other than Bill Clinton.

His greatest accomplishment was being the biggest liberal president pushover ever. He damn near ran the country into the ground. I know that he ruined the economy and militarily he weakened our position. He couldnt get our hostages back ... what a wimp. Like someone said his great achievement was not being re-elected

Camp David Accords process was began by President Ford not Carter, and Carter almost RUINED the American Economy. Don't listen to people who wern't even BORN before the Carter administration for information.
Also if you aren't willing to do a little reading and study to get information why should we bother with you?

Poor Jimmy Carter accomplished the art of gullibility. He made the mistake of believing that everyone was honest! Also, the U.S. had the worst inflation rate (double digits) in decades under his watch!
