Everything worked with aol. But now with yahoo I can't get it to work. All I did was load the software with the new modem for yahoo. Please advise on how to hookup properly, or if I need something else.

if the router is completely out (as in you cant get on its status page) then just reset it: there should be a tiny button somewhere on it that says "reset" , push it.

Connect your Modem directly to your PC
Restart both the Modem and PC, Modem first then PC.
Connects to the Internet? No. Contact Your ISP
Connects to the Internet? Yes.
Shut down Modem, PC, Router.
Connect the Modem to the WAN port on the Router.
Connect the PC to port 1 on the router
Power up the Modem, wait about a minute.
Power up the Router, you should get a light indicating you have a connection to the internet.
Power up the PC
Connect to the Internet Yes - Good To Go
Connect to the Internet No
Reset the Router (there's a reset switch on the router)
Connect to the Internet No
Start, Run, Type cmd, Enter, Type Ipconfig, Enter.
Your IP Address should be 192.168.1.xx
Your Default Gateway should be 192.168.1.1 (this is your reouter ip address normally 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.0), if not.
Open IE in the ip address field type 192.168.1.1 (check your router manual for the correct ip address, if this does not work.
log in to your router, verify DHCP is turned On, save settings and close.
The router should restart to and accept the new settings.
Restart your computer.
Connect to the Internet Yes - Good To Go
Connect to the Internet No
Control Panel, Network and Dialup connections, Local Area Connection, Properties, Internet Protocol (tcp/ip), Obtain ip address automatically should be On, Obtain DNS Server Address Automatically should be On.
Click OK
Restart
Connect to the Internet Yes - Good To Go
Connect to the Internet No
Start, Run, Type cmd, Enter, Type Ipconfig, Enter.
Your IP Address should be 192.168.1.xx, if not.
Type ipconfig /release
Type ipconfig /renew
Type ipconfig
Your IP Address should be 192.168.1.xx, if not.
I Give Up. It's time to call router tech support
