It is always difficult especially if you really need your job. I have been reading Zen in the Martial Arts and it applies martial arts to everyday life. They say Know yourself and Know your "enemy" and you will win 100% of the time. Bruce Lee explained that there were 4 types of opponents and one of them is a charger - one who comes right at you. He says do not confront them directly but step slightly to the side when they charge and it will throw them off. They are used to attacking head on but if you do something to throw them off they get disoriented. This kind of person is acting this way for a reason and you need to know what makes him tick. Don't use aggression against aggression. Just some thought I hope you don't find them crazy. Good luck!

You need to think about the consequences of whatever action you take before you take it. I have just been through a very similar experience at work. My bosses harrassed me and victimised me because i was a female working in a mans domain and i was on very good money. I went through the proper channels and did everything by the book. It got so bad i was off work due to stress and depression but they would not accept that as a legitimate reason to receive benefits. I had done nothing wrong yet they took the side of the managers. The managers then came out and said i was lazy and did a bad job which was all rubbish but no one was willing to stand up and support me because they saw what i was going through for standing up against management. Its wrong but sometimes you are fighting a losing battle.

In my first ever job when i was 14, my boss was only 19 but pushed me around soooooo bad. She would make me go and buy her lunch etc and was so rude to me. One day i had to buy her a milkshake so when i got out of the take away shop i spat a big golly into it, mixed it around and gave it to my boss. I watched her slurp the whole thing down and it made me feel so much better. Yes, it was childish i know, but i was 14. It didnt change the way she treated me but man it made me feel so much better and it got me through.

here are some links to help you I ran accross a artical last month on this subject and its gone now but there are internet sites set up to help those who are in this situation. I found so many that I went and just put down the search link in there for you I am so sorry you have to deal with this but here is a BUNCH of sites you can look through and get what you need out of them. You may have a situation at work that is different then what is in these but for the most part you will get information to help you. If you dotn have these kinds of situations then in a yahoo search bar put what you want 70% of the time its there for you even if its one link.

Stand your ground.

Any time your boss is difficult or demoralizes you, take him/her aside in private and tell the boss exactly how they treat you is unacceptable and give the reasons.

You'll either gain the boss's respect, or still be treated like crap. If the latter, start looking for a new job because nothing will change.

Smile and feverishly look for a new job. Life is too short to deal with this type of treatment. I would suggest contacting your HR department, but my recent experience has made my situation worse; so I would not go that route.

Good Luck.

Start looking for a new job. You spend 8 hours of your life there and it shouldn't be upsetting. In the meantime, let whatever they say roll off your shoulders, don't talk back or much (less for them to pick on) and try to do your very best until you're out of there.
