Believe it or not there are more legitimate online businesses than not. The problem with online businesses is that people expect instant success, when in fact an online business is like any other, it takes time and dedication to be a success. Money will not come in overnight without you spending money. Even then it doesn't always happen. My advice to anyone looking for a home based business is do your homework first.
There are several companies that are free to join, others require a small fee. You can sign up for any number of businesses as an affiliate, which is free, and just promote the site. You then earn a commission off of any actual sales.
Be prepared to spend time and sometimes money advertising your site.
Listed on my site are over 30 examples of legitimate home based businesses.

Yes, I work from home helping homeowners payoff their mortgage and other loans in less than half the time. It is a legitimate business, and a great program. I use the program myself for my own mortgage. Those who take an honest look at all the facts and figures from a reputable source will find that this system truly creates a significant advantage for homeowners. That is why I love working with this company, because I am truly helping others as I have been helped. See bellow the website source for more information.

I know of a home based business that takes minimal investment and has a great market, which is vital for success. Do you know of anyone who lines up at the local espresso shop a couple of times a day because they "need" a cup of coffee, or who drinks those 'energy' drinks that are full of sugar and caffeine? Now, how about someone who is interested in their health? The company that I work for is a bio tech company that believes of bringing the best of nature to mankind. The products they have developed are all natural and were designed by scientists and bio chemists to address the problems of aging. One of which is lack of energy. Imagine taking something that is good for you that doesn't give you the shakes and gives you ENERGY all day long! If you are interested in learning more, please contact me via Y!A and I will provide you with a link to my website so you can learn more.
I would provide one now, but it is against the "community guidelines"

Do you like to travel?? My husband and I found the perfect business for us because it's all about travel. The community guidelines do not allow me to explain here, but feel free to contact me. There are soooo many opportunities out there and everyone feels like they have the best deal. It can be overwhelming. I think the key is to get into a business that has great leadership and is ground-floor (so you get in before momentum hits.)

I just started with a company called Send Out Cards. It's an on-line greeting card company and markets to small business owners and professionals.
The system allows you to send real cards (they have over 8,000 cards to choose from). You can set it up to send on a specific date (anniversary, birthday, etc.) and even a series of cards.
For example, a person may setup a campaign to send a 'nice to meet you' card immediately, then a card every other month. This helps the business owner/professional stay in touch with their customers and prospects.
You can become a license reseller of this system and make money every time one of your customer sends a card. You also make money for training them on how to use the system.
Send out cards was started in 2002. There's still a lot of people that haven't heard about them, so there's a lot of potential.
Contact me if you want to learn more. I can also show you how the system works.

There are many companies offering legitimate work on the net. There are freelance companies willing to pay you for doing their work at home. There are survey companies looking for people, and
many affiliate marketing companies willing to pay you a commission for sending them customers. Most of these opportunities won't cost you anything to sign up. Do a search for business opportunities and
you will find many available. Good Luck
