After dribbling to a hop step/jump stop, can you still pivot?

all those other answers above mine are (wrong) if u do a hop step after stopping your dribble, NO you cant still pivot, you have 3 choices, shoot it, pass it, or take a travel, i play bball, they call it 100% of the time if u dont do something with the ball immedietly

Yes, it is legal to pivot after performing a hop step. It's just the same as if you pick up your dribble.

Yes... the hop step/jump stop counts (as long as its done correctly) the last step before picking up your dribble.... therefore, you can still pivot

That would be a double dribble. The NBA players get away with a lot of things that they shouldn't. Sometimes the refs miss it, and sometimes they wanna give the crowd a little excitement. But anywhere esle you do that, wether it be grade school , high school, or college, you'' get called for double dribbling.

yeah you can...just pick the foot you want to pivot on..just depends on what shot you want to take
