Most plus sized models are actually size 8 to 12 which is average sized, and healthy. I am plus sized, sizes 16-20 depending on brand, and it sucks to never see what the clothes would actually look like on me. Why is this, and what can be done about it?

America's next top model is a perfect example the biggest girl is only a size 10 maybe 12. It's not comparable to actual plus sized women. I watch Tyra's show too, and I like it, but the "plus sized' models she has had on are tiny!

Well I guess the fashion industry is just superficial. Regular sizes are modeled with a size 0 or 2. Apparently the fashion industry is made by gay males and they do not like curvey figures they like gitls that look like boys. I am sorry about that. I am around your size too.

nicely it somewhat is a step interior the impressive direction. A US14/ UK18-20 is actual incredibly great even at 5'10. it would appear like a classic female of 5'5 US 6-8/ uk 10-12. no person ever stated Plus Sized fashions are modelling Plus Sized outfits. here in eire, plus length starts at a length sixteen, it extremely is a US 12 and basically one length greater than that kind. In present day image shoots i've got observed women persons of length sixteen/18 much extra so it somewhat is changing, slowly yet somewhat. on an analogous time, condoning being an risky weight regardless of if this is too small or too great isn't perfect.

I work in the apparel industry and this is my opinion:
Clothing companies want women to think that they will look the same way in the clothes the model is wearing. This is done in non-plus sized clothing as well to make women think they will look like the model; Victoria's Secret is a perfect example. Think about it: if you area size 16 and the model is a size 22, would you want to buy the clothes she is modeling? Chances are you will not, because most (not all) plus-sized women want to lose weight. Whether it's right or wrong, when looking at models, women see themselves as they want to be, not as they are.
One other thing - plus-sized women carry their weight differently - some in their hips, some in their rear- so it would be difficult to find a model over size 12 who represents the majority of where plus-sized women carry their weight.

i think that it is because the models that you see on couture fashion shows are just sickingly skinny (sorry if you are one of them :-) and that makes the standerds for normal sized humans "plus-sized"
