I know this is an odd question, but though I haven't gained any weight (lost in fact) in my pregnancy, my belly has started getting bigger (I think it's all baby in fact). I have noticed here lately that it is getting very very uncomfortable in the shower or in the tub. I usually shave with one leg above in the sink, but even that is starting to hurt a little because it is putting pressure on my belly. I would ask my hubby, but with the way he shaves and cuts himself, I am afraid that he would do the same. He just gets in too much of a hurry. Do you have any alternatives? Do you think that the shaveless hair remover would be dangerous to use? I do not use it because the fumes they carry and feel like it is better safe than put my baby at risk. I am putting this in the pregnancy section because I am sure most pregnant women have gone through this and they might have a solution.

Well, I know this is going to come as a great shock, but...
you're probably going to reach a point where you can't shave them at all. And there's nothing wrong with that. That belly is going to get MUCH bigger, and no one at the hospital is going to think you are gross if you have a little leg hair.
If it's really bothering you, try sitting down and propping your foot on something to shave. DO NOT try to balance yourself by standing up and shaving. If that doesn't work, see if someone in your family will help you. If not, let it grow. You can always shave after the baby gets here. In the general scheme of things, something like that is really cosmetic, and easily covered up by pants.

What I did with my a baby belly was I would prop my leg up on the edge of the tub and lean so my belly was to the side. This was the easiest way for me. Another way you can try is in the bath tub bring your leg up and to the side instead of leaning toward your leg. But you will eventually figure out what works best for you. Have fun!!

I have the same problem! I didn't have it as early as you though, what I usually do is when I sit in the tub, I lay back and prop my leg up on the side, and just take turns, it works for me, but I have long arms..sorry if I'm not any help, I don't trust my finace to shave my legs either lol
Good luck and Congrats :~)

I'm 32wks pregnant and have given up trying to shave my legs. My fiance has offered but i'm like you >>> i just don't feel safe letting him anywhere near me with a razor so wot i have opted for is a leg was (and pedicure) cause i can't reach my damn toe nails either!! LOL i go every mth but last mth only had pedicure as i am now going to wait 2/3wks b4 my baby is due and going to have a leg wax. Alternitively you could ask one of ur girly friends to shave them for you or even a family member :-)

My fiance shaved mine for me :) If you are having discomfort when trying, I would say to let him go for it once... if it doesn't work .. see if you can get some of the cold wax stuff ... he shouldn't be able to hurt ya too bad just pulling off the papers. Good luck with the pregnancy and the shaving.

my hubby!! I was pregnant most of the summer and he had to help me at least twice a week get the "Intuition" shaver it really minimizes bumps and cuts. I stayed away from chemicals like nair it stinks itches and was very messy. Id get a wax sometimes cause it lasted for at least 3 weeks Congrats on the baby!

i feel your pain but just wait. i am almost 9 months pregnant and i think running a marathon would be easier that shaving my legs. in fact, i have simply quit trying even though the hair drives me nuts. i do not know about chemical hair removal. i don't guess it would be bad but i do not use it.

Your husband is your best bet! That's how I get mine shaved! He is surprisingly gentle with me, since he's afraid to cut me! Much more gentle than when he saves his own face. Let him give it a try! Just warn him to be careful around the ankles-- you could still do the knees yourself if you want!
