Clomid only increases your chances for conception for the first six months you are on it. Using it more than 6 months is of no value.

Be careful because Clomid can thicken your cervical mucous making it much more difficult to conceive. You may want to consider insemination of your husband's sperm for the last 3 months of your 6 months on Clomid. This is still relatively inexpensive (no more than $500 per month including medications).

Many reproductive specialists will ultrasound you on Day 10-12 of your cycle to make sure you are responding to the Clomid then give you an injection called Profasi (HCG) to make you release the egg. This is either followed by insemination the next day or sexual activity.

Best of Luck.

I have been on clomid for 4 months now and still have not ovulated as yet. However I have just finished my first double dose (200mg or ever ever it was) and my boobs feel like they are going to fall off!! Have you had a laparoscopy? Poly-cystic ovarian syndrome? I have had my ovaries lasered and have noticed a difference. The hot flushes are my worst nightmare on clomid. Good Luck!

I got pregnant on the first try with Clomid, but unfortunately it ended in an early miscarriage (not due to the clomid, by the way, but possibly due to my PCOS).
