That would depend on box office sales. If the film does well in the theater, they keep it there for as long as possible because it makes more money there than it would as a DVD. Ghost Rider was doing extremely well so it will take about nine months.

It depends on how well the movie does before it hits DVD. For Ghost Rider, I think 6-9 months after it drops out of the top 10.

Most movies lately come out on DVD in around 4 months after they are released in theaters. It used to be longer, over a year for really popular movies like Titanic and Jurassic Park, but now that DVDs make more money than theatrical releases they want to ship out DVDs as soon as possible.

Sometime this year, that's for sure. The Lord of the Rings: ROTK was huge at the box office and came out on DVD 5 months after it was released in theatres.

It just recently came out in theaters! I don't know if they're even thinking that far ahead, pending ticket sales!
